We could not have found a better way to come to the end of our visit to NZ than to have stayed at your wonderful home - so beautifully restored - you have been a most welcoming host. We do hope to return.

Hi Susan and John,
I hope all is well with both of you. ..... my husband and I stayed with you last June on our Honeymoon. I thought I would share the magazine article that was written up in a small US magazine about our honeymoon which mentions our stay with you. It starts on page 14.

- New Zealand is now my favourite country, and from our very first e-mail exchange you set me up to appreciate it fully. I was early inarriving, late for breakfasting, in need of an electrical converter for my videocam, too early for one breakfast, and burdened with very heavy baggage -- all of which you cheerily assisted me in dealing with. You've both been friendly and consummate hosts in the home that has deserved the loving care you've given it. While here I've learned much, and you put me on the road to that happy experience. Thank you. I shall continue spreading the word about your superb bed & breakfast at Braemar.

- We have enjoyed our stay in your charming home. How wonderful to hear birdsong and no traffic noise in the centre of Auckland city. It has been fun to be tourists in our own city. Best wishes.

- Thank you very much for your wonderful hospitality. We enjoyed staying with you in your beautiful home filled with loving care and treasured memories. We appreciated your kindness in making us feel so welcomed and at home. Thank you Susan for trying to teach me "napkin folding". We enjoyed our first night of our New Zealand vacation at your home - Thank you again.
P.S. Your breakfast was great.

- "A real find in the middle of the city. Situated on a quiet road Braemar is in walking distance to all the sites. The hosts were extremely welcoming, especially to the children and very knowledgeable about the area. The food was excellent and they were able to cater for a special diet."

- "My daughter and I stayed at Susan and John Sweetman's grand, beautifully restored Edwardian townhouse in Auckland's central business district, Braemar on Parliament Street.
The accommodations are top-notch, the breakfast divine (organic breads, fruits and yoghurts and a special hot dish). The Sweetmans genuinely love sharing their adventures and hearing those of their guests.
The gorgeous home has three guest rooms, two for $180 NZ (about $132 US) and a suite for $250 NZ ($183 US). This includes breakfast, complimentary tea and coffee, e-mail and Internet access. You would pay at least twice that in the United States for the same accommodations, and their hospitality is priceless."

- "Braemar is ideally situated for visiting central Auckland - within walking distance of most amenities - shops, restaurants and attractions. The owners are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful about all that is available in the city and region. The breakfasts are just right - cooked if you want, but the continental version including a varied fresh fruit salad is more than adequate. A good place to stay."

- "Wonderful hospitality. Susan and John have made Braemar perfect. The best beds, wonderful breakfasts and relaxing atmosphere made this a standout during our trip.I am so happy we stayed there. I would recommend it to everyone."

- "We had a wonderful time at Braemar and would highly recommend it to others (we will be doing that on the Cruise Critics website). Thank you for the great hospitality and the extra time you took to explain everything from Crickett to some of the local history. We really enjoyed your "New Zild" language lessons and your Thespian creativity in interpreting the language. Thanks for a terrific stay."

- "Everything was so excellent! Kind & friendly hosts, beautiful building & furniture, delicious breakfast, quiet circumstance, elegant accessories etc. In spite of short visiting, we've got loved Braemar On Parliament St. Keeping old & good things is so difficult, but we ask you to keep them. Thank you & see you next time!"

- "What a lovely place. To be offered tea/coffee as soon as you arrive and to have this served in beautiful old china cups is such a nice touch. This place is obviously a labour of love. Susan and John are a charming couple and to find such a place in downtown Auckland, is a real gem."

- "This is a wonderful bed-and-breakfast in an Edwardian town house. There are three bedrooms recently renovated to their original look. The location is very central [in the heart of the central business district]. The owners' enthusiasm for helping their guests was unlimited. There is a choice of three rooms, which all come with goose-down duvets and pillows."
